Particularly lots of elapsed time with a newborn 😂) Thank you all for bearing with me as I’ve taken some time to focus on my family. I hope to be back to posting math content again before too long!

If you already own my editable absent student form If you already own my editable absent student forms, I’ve just added a digital version that you can use with Google Slides! All the original forms are included, plus an editable one. This would be perfect for keeping a running document so students always know where to check what they missed! Just duplicate the slide each day and add the new info.
I’m afraid I have some sad news today: our dear I’m afraid I have some sad news today: our dear friend subtraction has died 😱 I know it’s a tough loss and it will be hard to go on without it, BUT! fortunately we are prepared to deal with this loss because we know that every subtraction problem can be rewritten as addition by adding the opposite! RIP subtraction! // Shoutout to @mspineappleteaches for the original idea - having a funeral for subtraction is one of my favorite things! I go on to share my first memory of subtraction and ask if anyone would like to share a memory or say a few words (my favorite was a student who said there was a lot we could “take away” from this - pun very much intended 😂). We close with a moment of silence. I hope it sticks with them all year and that they remember to rewrite subtraction problems as addition!
